Park Slope 8th-9th Ave streets

Image
Continuing my quest to finish off the side streets of Park Slope, many of which I walked and biked when I was much younger. I took the G train to 7th Ave and got off at the 8th Ave end, and then walked over to 11th Street to pick up where I left off. The first place I had to stop at was this building on Prospect Park West just off 11th St. That window to the left of the front door goes into the apartment where my grandparents lived when I was very little. My grandmother passed when I was in kindergarten and grandpa moved not long afterward. I remember climbing those steps and have some memories inside. And, of course, I have memories of the playground in the park across the street. After this, it's basically, down one block and up the next. I took some photos of doorways that interested me. I put off Park Slope because I didn't want to walk up that many blocks. And the "funny" thing is that, since I go there on the way home from work, I end up starting at the bottom of the hill and walking up, instead of going down. Either way, five blocks isn't much of a walk, even if it's uphill. So I got off the B train at 7th Ave, walked up to Grand Army Plaza and Prospect Park West, and made my way over to Montgomery Place, which is just a one-block street added into the grid because Carroll Street and Garfield Place angle away from each other. The images below include at least one shot of each block (excluding 9th...
