Walkin' In Brooklyn

From Broadway Junction to the Jackie Robinsone, down Pennsylvania Ave to Linden Blvd and back again on Sheffeld. There was a short piece of Broadway just past Broadway Junction that I hadn't walked yet. This brought me to the entrance of the Jackie Robinson (formerly the Interborough) Parkway and the start of Pennsylvania Ave. I'd walked most of Pennsylvania Avenue in the past when I worked at FDNY High School at Thomas Jefferson campus, but never down to the highway. To get there, I had to walk up Jamaica Ave to Fanchon Place, which I took up to the start of Highland Blvd (not to be confused with Hylan Blvd in Staten Island). After that, the plan was to walk south on Marginal St W, but the two streets didn't exactly line up. I had to take a flight of steps down to the dead end street. When I have doctor's appointments in Long Island, I stop by Spring Creek, New Lots, and/or East New York on the way back because I'm basically passing through. I did drive past "the Hole" but I don't know when or even if that's actually going to happen. I didn't pass any place that I could leave my car, that's for sure. I'm working to finish off more of the grid over here. Two specific problems here: first, there's a transportation depot that takes up three city blocks that I had to go around; second, crossing Linden Blvd at any point other than an intersection with a street light is inadvisable. I've done it before, but I shouldn't. On the other hand, I ran into a secondhand street market for all sorts of stuff. I glanced at a few things. Another early summer morning where I took the 3 train to the end of the line while many people were still sleeping. I walked to the east end of New Lots Ave and came back on Dumont, which I took back to the Sutter Ave station. It actually didn't seem like four miles. I did have to walk a little out of the way because Dumont is split by the L train, and there isn't a way across. I didn't get too many looks of "what are you doing here?" that I recall. New Lots Ave actually crosses Dumont and ends two blocks later at Logan Street, which runs parallel to Fountain Ave, where Dumont Ave begins. (Actually, there's a large complex, four blocks across and several avenues wide, interrupting Dumount. It continues on the far side. I didn't venture that far, choosing neither to cross it nor go around it.) Before I start, I have no idea why my photos all say "Galaxy AS1" on them.
