Columbia Waterfront District
To get to the Waterfront District, I needed to catch the G from work and take it to Smith Street. There's a bit of walk just to get to the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. This portion is called, I believe, the trench. I always hated driving in there. Apparently, Google doesn't like it either because it always tells me to take the streets. However, when I do that, I obey traffic laws.
Basically, here's the bridge that I needed to cross.

And here are three images of the idiot driver who ran the red light and stopped in the crosswalk and left little room for me to get to the bridge. I did restrain myself from using anything in my bag as a club to smash a window, but mostly because I didn't want to break my stuff. I calmed down enough by the time that I got home that I didn't plaster these images across social media. But, hey, I can be petty. It's not like anyone (beside you, dear reader!) reads this blog:

Up the bridge, over, and a 90-degree right turn to come down the bridge back onto Hicks Street. Yeah, I could've just crossed at Union Street since I was going that direction anyway, but this is more fun!

Left on Degraw and a quick right on Tiffany Place with its cobblestone street. So such a long "side street", I should've taken more pictures!

A left on Kaine Street brings me to Columbia Street. Hey, the waterfront!

I looped up to finish the piece of DeGraw between Columbia and Tiffany and then about-faced down to Van Brunt.
After that, it was a bit of criss-crossing and backtracking, walking down dead-end streets, continuing on Van Brunt, and heading back to get the next street. (In previous walks, I'd already walked Columbia, but I hadn't set foot on Van Brunt.) I passed a couple of community gardens/parks along the way. The importance of green spaces!

A shot of St. Stephen's on the other side of the highway.

Down Carroll Street

Okay, so there's a Tesla dealership down here. I went down the one block of Summit but I didn't turn the corner of Imlay. Too big of a detour. It'll have to wait for a future trip.

Hamilton Ave splits, according to Google Maps, and creates a triangular plot of land, great for a little greenspace. Oddly, neither street seems to be Summit, even though one piece of Hamilton connects both Summit Streets!

Almost done. Back up Summit, down Woodhull and Hamiton Ave, back up Rapeleye to get to the bridge again. No trains in the waterfront district, so off to Smith Street!
