Lenox Road

Up and out early on another warm August morning. The map says my walk started at 6:58 am. I guess I made good time getting to Saratoga Ave.

I walked down Livonia Ave to E 98 Street and then down to the start of Lenox Rd, which runs southwest for eight blocks, where it'll cross Rockaway Parkway and Kings Highway. I was recently at that Kings Highway intersection, coming from a different direction. I've yet to come at it from E 95 Street.

After Remsen Ave, Lenox Rd basically runs east-west.

Among a few of the sights I saw was a grandfather clock out in a front yard. No idea if it was working or if it was out because it was trash. It'd be amusing if it was outside just for fun even if I can't think of a good reason why.

The post office on Utica Ave says Rugby Station, which I thought curious. The only street named Rugby I know is Rugby Road, which is miles away, south of Prospect Park. I did "Google" it, but without much luck as far as its history goes. It's not a historical building or anything.

Next were some statues, some street sculpture and then the end of the road. (The side trip on Bedford was probably me going into a store for more coffee.)

I could have ended here, but I continued toward the Parade Grounds and walked the blocks just south of Parkside Ave that I hadn't done before. So I crossed over Ocean Ave to the other side of the tracks, as if were.

Final picture (except for the one I deleted with a certain individual on the subway that I wanted in case he randomly went berserk or something) is a curosity. The GREEN globes are supposed to indicate that you can enter the station from this stairway. It used to indicate that there was a subway token clerk there, or at least an operated booth. The sign clearly says "No Entry", not even with a metro card. It's an exit only. So it shouldn't have green globes.

By the way, on a previous trip, I checked. There was no sort of electronic entry available.

And that's it for this trip. Come back soon.

MY NEWEST BOOK IS AVAILABLE NOW!

Burke's Lore Briefs: Yesterday's Villains, the following to Tomorrow's Heroes is now available on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited.

If Heroes who don't die live long enough to become the villain, what happens to Villains who live long enough? When do schemes of global conquest become dreams of a quiet place away from all those annoying people you once wanted to subjugate? And does anyone really want to rule over the world's ashes if it means we can't have nice things?

My older books include three more books in my Burke's Lore Briefs series, and the anthologies A Bucket Full of Moonlight and In A Flash 2020.

Vampires, werewolves, angels, demons, used-car salesmen, fairies, superheroes, space and time travel, and little gray aliens talking to rock creatures and living plants.

Plus pirates, spies, horror, and kindergarten noir!

If you enjoy my books, please consider leaving a rating or review on Amazon or on Good Reads. Thank you!
