Albemarle Road / East 29 Street
Another Flatbush to Brooklyn College walk. Somehow, my phone hadn't charge the night before or some app drained the battery, but my phone died just before I got to the Bedford Ave bus stop.
There were only a few streets traveled over this two and a half mile walk.
First was Albemarle Road, which is two lanes between the Q train and Flatbush Ave. On the other side of Flatbush, it turns into a narrow one-lane, one-way road running to Nostrand Ave, which is a block past E 29 Street. So I walked to the end and double backed a block.
Like many streets, the first block of E 29 Street isn't representative of the entire 8-block stretch, which is why I took the second picture. After 8 blocks or so, Flatbush Ave cuts back in.
At this point, there's that blip in the map that I remember from the days when I attended Brooklyn College. This holdover handful of streets running whichever way they want to. Glenwood Road tips up and then continues like it was never interrupted in the first place. Then comes the conncurrency of Glenwood, Amersfort Place (which briefly splits), and E 27 Street. At this point, my phone died.
Walking down Campus Road, past the student union building (SUBO) and Boylan Hall and the rest of the campus brings back memories. I caught the bus on Bedford Ave.
And that's it for this trip. Come back soon.
