W 15/W 16/W 24/ W 25/W 27/Hart Pl (Coney Island)

Wednesday morning found me back in Coney Island. With all the East New York and Brownsville routes I'd been taking, I needed to remember that there were places closer to home that I needed to visit, and summer is the perfect time to visit Coney Island. (Winter isn't as much fun.)

The walk started with W 15 and W 16 Streets along with Hart Place, the area above Neptune Ave but south of the creek.

The sign for Gargiulo's was tempting, but it was closed and I was going the other direction.

Just across the creek, the storage facility next to Home Depot. There used to be an entire neighborhood over there, but it was all razed.

Once back on Neptune Ave, it was a bit of a hike from W 15 St down to W 24 Street, which I walked all the way down to the beach.

A few shots of me with the shore in the background. I probably posted one of them on Facebook, but I don't remember which one. Which one do you prefer.

You can leave comments! It'd be great if someone left a comment!

Why does the Boardwalk change here? And why are the benches here to discourage vehicles from passing? I don't know, but I'll be back here soon enough.

In the meantime, I'm heading north on W 25 Street.

Where is W 26 Street? It doesn't exist. As mentioned in a previous post, these streets were considered continuations of the roads from the other side of the creek. These streets are no longer there. W 26 Street didn't run north-south, but broke off from an adjacent street, so it wasn't continued on Coney Island.

South on W 27 Street, I thought I'd have to make a detour around an apartment building, but there was an opening allowing me to pass through.

Back to the Boardwalk! I'll always take a picture of the Parachute Jump (and many times I'll take a selfie in front of it, but not this time).

Finally, back to the subway by way of W 16th Street, which is just a pedestrian walkway, practically an alley with no traffic. However, it's a named street so I walked it. Honestly, it's surprising I hadn't walked it before. It's a popular path from Neptune Ave to the beach without having to go around the ballpark.

And that's it for this trip. Come back soon.

MY NEWEST BOOK IS AVAILABLE NOW!

Burke's Lore Briefs: Yesterday's Villains, the following to Tomorrow's Heroes is now available on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited.

If Heroes who don't die live long enough to become the villain, what happens to Villains who live long enough? When do schemes of global conquest become dreams of a quiet place away from all those annoying people you once wanted to subjugate? And does anyone really want to rule over the world's ashes if it means we can't have nice things?

My older books include three more books in my Burke's Lore Briefs series, and the anthologies A Bucket Full of Moonlight and In A Flash 2020.

Vampires, werewolves, angels, demons, used-car salesmen, fairies, superheroes, space and time travel, and little gray aliens talking to rock creatures and living plants.

Plus pirates, spies, horror, and kindergarten noir!

If you enjoy my books, please consider leaving a rating or review on Amazon or on Good Reads. Thank you!
