Nassau / Russell / N. Henry / Herbert

The screenshot says "plus a mile for glitches", which usually means that the app was not recording when I thought it was recording. Odds are (and I'm working from memory and logic) that I got off the train at the Nassau Ave G train station on Manhattan Ave and then walked to Msgr. McGolrick Park and turned north. And THEN I realized that I wasn't recording.

Actually, I just checked the video (which I can't do in preview mode -- I had to go back to the hard drive), and I was walking on Nassau Ave.

You can also see a diagonal line that runs through buildings. The app was paused but not unpaused until some time later.

The two-way street to start off should be Nassau Ave, followed by Msgr. McGolrick Park and Paul Clinton Garden (which does not seem to appear on Google Maps, so I'm not exactly sure where it is now. I'd have to guess on Russell St.)

North on Russell St, east on Messerole, and then south on North Henry Street. (Not to be confused with Henry Street that runs from Brooklyn Heights and through Cobble Hill.) The Henry Norman Hotel caught my eye and it took a moment to realize that this wasn't a name as much as it's an intersection.

The Church of Christ at Greenpoint is sandwiched in between a couple of houses on N. Henry Street.

After that, it was back over to Russell Street, going around the park, and down to the BQE and Meeker Ave.

A block on Meeker Ave brought me to Fidelity Triangle. After that, it appears that I stopped in McDonald's and was there long enough that I paused my walking app. You can see a diagonal line that runs through buildings until I restarted it again at Metropolitan Ave. Arg!

With coffee in hand, I went down Kingsland Ave to Herbert St, where I took multiple pictures of St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church. The parish was established in 1870–187. Designed by architect Thomas H. Poole and built by the firm Byrne and Perry using discount limestone, the cornerstone of this building was laid on September 27, 1891. The church was dedicated on November 26, 1893, and officially consecrated on November 23, 1901.

This final picture is 43 Herbert Street. It was interesting, so I took a photo. Google Maps doesn't say anything special about this building.

And that's it for this trip. Come back soon.

MY NEWEST BOOK IS AVAILABLE NOW!

7 Flashes of Science Fiction: When the day comes that humans head out into the stars, will we understand the messages we receive in space from alien civilizations? Or will the day come that aliens walk among us freely and openly on the streets on Manhattan? Will technology take over our lives to the point where we feel for it should it break down? Can dimensions be unfolded within tiny spaces yielding results that were not meant to be known?

And what if we had to leave it all behind and start over?

Explore the magic and wonders that space, time, and other dimemsions have to offer with 7 Flashes of Science Fiction.

My older books include three more books in my Burke's Lore Briefs series, and the anthologies A Bucket Full of Moonlight and In A Flash 2020.
