Argle, Rugby, Westminster, E10-7 Streets in West Midwood
Finishing up one of the gaps left last summer when I was talking walks closer to home. Frankly, I never knew there was a "West" Midwood, but crazier than that, there is a "South Midwood" somewhat north of this. Go figure!
One other thing that's crazy is that I've recorded videos that are for some reason recorded sideways, at a 90-degree angle, with no way of rotating them. This is the first time that I remember seeing one where the preview was upside-down. I don't know how I could've rotated the phone 180 degrees after pressing start. I was able to edit the video
.Before I get started, as you can see from the map above, there are a lot of dead-end streets here. There are pictures of most of them. These cut-off streets are the reason this section hasn't been walked before.
And at the end of those streets is a railway cut with a single track. It's not the Brighton Line, but rather the track that they want to use for the proposed Interboro light-rail line (IBX). There are reasons that it would have to be light-rail (particularly if it's ever on street level), but the other obstabcle I just mentioned is that there's only one track. A second one would have to be laid beside it -- and the first one might have to be shifted over to accomodate it.
And now, on with the walking.
