Ocean Ave/E 24 Street

This walk wasn't supposed to start where it did. I wanted to get off the train at Parkside Avenue, but the local I was on decided that it was going to go express from Prospect Park. It was one stop away, and I knew that I could walk the extra distance before the next local arrived -- and that's assuming that it wouldn't go express as well!

So I had a few extra blocks down Ocean Avenue (NOT Ocean Parkway, which I mentioned in the video) before I cut over to E 21 St for a coule of blocks. At Church Ave, I shifted back over to Ocean Parkway. Finally, I took a left turn on Foster Ave, looped around to Flatbush Ave and Stephens Court before the start of E 24 St, which I took to Kings Highway.

Walking along Ocean Ave, with its very old apartment buildings, I came across St. Mark's Episcopal Church at Beverly Road and this building at Newkirk Ave, which Google Maps tells me is a doctor's office.

Turning onto Foster Ave, and Our Lady of Refuge Church takes over the block with its commanding presence.

After a quick trip down Stephen's Court (first photo), it was down E 24 St, which ends just behind Midwood High School (the expansion building). Instead of a Book library, I passed a food pantry. It's nice that folks look out for each other in this neighborhood.
