Pacific Street, from East New York Ave to Nostrand Ave

The walk of the day was Pacific Street starting at East New York Ave and finising at Nostrand. I'd walked the rest of Pacific Street previously, so I only had to walk a three-mile portion of it before catching the IRT on Eastern Parkway.

I stepped off the L train at Atlantic Ave, following a crowd that included two colleagues whom I hadn't known were on the same subway. I didn't see them when I got to the bottom of the stairs, but I didn't notice the LIRR station, which likely explained their vanishing so suddenly.

Pacific Street only runs a couple of blocks before it's cut off for the Atlantic Plaza Towers. I went around via Atlantic Ave, and then swung back. The houses changed as I headed west.

I like to take pictures of the parks that I past (as long as I'm not taking pictures of children) but I had to laugh when I saw "South Pacific Playground". Two thoughts occured to me. First, "Some enchanted evening, you may see a stranger!" Second, Pacific runs east-west, so why is this South?

I didn't make a note of the building that had the statue of the six workers sitting on a curved girder. The sign says "2008 Nogara". It was an interesting piece.

More trees and buildings plus a rock garden. Then a community garden with an interesting mural.

Finally, I'm on Eastern Parkway again, heading for Barclays.
