Park Slope, 6th to Garfield, 4th to 6th Aves

The walk started from the G train station at 7th Avenue from where I walked to 6th Street to start the official walk. Some of the old slate slab sidewalks brought back memories. A food pantry at the corner, thanks to people looking out for people.

Zig-zagging up and down streets, next was 5th Street back up to 6th Avenue, where I spotted a Puppet Works I never knew about, and then down 4th Street, which dead ends, but you can walk through the park to get to 4th Avenue. But first, I had to stop at Washington's Headquarters (as currently restored).

And, yes, that Washington. These were Gen. George Washington's headquarters during the Battle of Brooklyn (aka the Battle of Long Island) before the American forces had to retreat. I used to play in this building as a kid (although I can't say that the building was open at the time -- we weren't worried about getting caught by adults so much as getting caught by anyone else who might already be hanging out inside ...)

Next, it's 3rd Street.

Second, First, and Garfield and then off to the train station at Union Street. (There might've been a quick stop at a book store along the way.)
