E 33 / E 34 Sts (Marine Park)
Working my way east and navigating the streets around the park itself. Okay, I goofed. I planned on staying between Fillmore and Kings Highway, but I parked in the wrong place without thinking, so I walked Ave U to Kings Highway, with some detours so I wouldn't miss one street that I'd have to come back to later.
There aren't a lot of pictures because I didn't travel a lot of different streets. I guess I still traveled four different East streets, but two of them were only for a single block.
I started on E33 Street by Ave U. There's a picture of some of the houses closer to the park, which look different from the ones closer to Kings Highway.
Walking down E 34 Street, I got as far as Avenue S before I decided to loop around and get that one block of E 32 Street that I was missing.
Rather than walk down E 34 Street again (and possibly worry the residents that some strange guy was casing the neighborhood, taking pictures), I swung around to E 35 Street for one block. That block holds a particular treat.
Hendrick I. Lott House is a rare surviving Dutch-American house in New York City. In 1719, family patriarch Johannes Lott purchased a farm in the rural town of Flatlands. The last surviving family member passed away in 1989. The city now owns the land and the house.
I'll have more on the Lott house in another blog entry when I go down E 36 Street. I did record a video for Tik Tok and Instagram, but I never edited it or share the raw footage. I'll likely post that, too.
And that's it for this trip. Come back soon.

If Heroes who don't die live long enough to become the villain, what happens to Villains who live long enough? When do schemes of global conquest become dreams of a quiet place away from all those annoying people you once wanted to subjugate? And does anyone really want to rule over the world's ashes if it means we can't have nice things? | ![]() |
