Yes, I've fallen months behind again. Sorry for the lack of updates as school began in September once again.

Continuing down the L line seemed to be the way to go. At least, it did back in May. I still hadn't realized how long traveling on the L line actually took!

Before we start: here's a little birdie. What's so special about the birdie? Well, I was walking to work about about seven in the morning, and it literally fell out of tree in front of me. It just missed me by inches (maybe 12-20 inches, but inches). At first, I thought it was dead. Then it's head popped up. I didn't have any gloves or anything that I could use to move it, and I was wasn't going to touch it otherwise. With my luck, it'd peck my hand and fly away and then what?

And just in case the person looking over your shoulder is as clueless or brainless as someone on social media was, No, I am not poking the bird with a stick. That's the bird's tail.

And now, on with the Countdown ...

I mean, on with the Walk...

Heading into Brownsville in the middle of the day, next knowing what to expect, but keeping my eyes open.

And, honestly, no one gave me a second look.

I stepped off the train and just started walking. It was a couple blocks before I hit Carter G. Woodson Children's Park, named for the historian, author, and founder of what would eventually become known as Black History Month.

Not much farther until I turned onto Rockaway Ave, which I took down to Livonia. It was too soon to go home so I started a loop up Chester and down Bristol. There was a community garden at 300 Chester.

Google Maps doesn't say what's behind these walls. NYPD is a block over.

A few more photos down Bristol, including a mural in front of the Post Office, and it's off to the subway and the ride home.

I'm almost finished with Bed-Stuy as I make my way to Broadway Junction. I'm saying Eastern Parkway for warmer weather and more daylight (after work) because I'd like to see if I can walk it in one shot. The last four roads that I had to zig-zag were MacDougal, Hull, Somers, and Truxton. They's at such an acute angle that I walked quite a bit down Fulton street to get from one road to the next. All together, it was only about 15 blocks, not counting Fulton, DeSales, and Sackman Street. The map shows a side street between DeSales and Eastern Parkway, but it's a road through a parking lot and not a proper street. There are sidewalks are each end and no street name. First off, walking to the Dead End with Holy Cross Cemetery beyond it covered in snow. Then about face for the two blocks to Broadway. Carroll / Crown / Ford Streets

No video, because I was walking with News 12. Their video can be found here . I arrived early do I looped around a few blocks to the park, and then returned to Franklin Ave and Eastern Parkway to wait for Rob Flaks from News 12 to arrive. Together, we walked a ways down Carroll Street while he filmed and asked me questions. He kept up with me until about Brooklyn Ave before returning to his car. I made it down to Lincoln Terrace / Arthur S. Somers Park. Normally, I wouldn't cross through the park unless I needed to get to the other side, but in this particular case, I needed to use the bathroom. I'd been out for several hours now and had had a couple of large coffees. (The map above says 1:51:40 but there was a lot of waiting in there when the app was paused.) I returned through Crown Heights along Crown Street until Nostrand Ave where I got the IRT back to Atlantic Ave. I hadn't expected that walk to be four and a half miles.
